Setting Realistic Goals for Weight Loss Success

Setting realistic goals in obesity treatment is important, otherwise, you will become frustrated and lose less weight. The idea that setting a weight loss goal of 100 pounds is any less effective than a more modest goal may seem like sage advice, but the research says otherwise.

If you SET your mind to a certain goal, you have to be focused on that goal like a laser beam. Once you start to lose weight, how you eat and drink will change as well as how you look at weight loss.

I can help you do this once you start the program. You want to remember this though — you’re going to take baby steps. You might lose 20 pounds in the beginning, say in four weeks, but after that initial weight loss, it might only be 3 pounds a week.

The thing to remember is that you’re losing weight. You didn’t put it on all at once, and you won’t take it off all at once. It’s a long term thing. Stay with it, and you’ll never have those extra inches again. Don’t forget about your goals and the end result. If you’re getting results, you’re on your way.

Yours in Good Health,

Dr. Marc Weinberg
