Dr. Ariel SofferAriel Soffer, M.D., FACC - Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease

Dr. Soffer set out to create a place where patients can not only get the finest cardiovascular care and preventive treatment that the world has to offer, but to do so in a setting that allows every patient to feel like part of his family. Dr. Soffer began his cardiovascular journey at the age of 16 when he finished highschool and enrolled in Pre-Med Studies, always wanting to be a cardiologist. After graduating medical school at the University of Miami with Distinction, he was accepted to the prestigious Cedars Sinai/UCLA residency program in Beverly Hills, California, one of the top cardiology programs in the world and published several articles on a wide range of cardiovascular topics.

Accomplishments

Dr. Soffer is Board Certified in Internal Medicine in 1995 and in Cardiovascular Disease in 1998 and is a Fellow in the American College of Cardiology. He was named the Chief of Medicine of Hollywood Medical Center and later became the Official Doctor and Cardiologist of the NHL’s Florida Panthers from 2004-2008. Dr. Soffer also served as the Chief of Cardiology for Jackson North Medical Center, the newest hospital in one of the world’s largest academically affiliated Hospital Systems, Jackson Health.

He was asked by St. Jude Medical to write a book on Mitral Valve Prolapse Syndrome and it is often cited as one of the definitive works on this common and misunderstood cardiovascular disorder. He maintains affiliations and teaching relationships with the University of Florida’s Vascular Biology Working Group, Barry University, and Nova University.

He is one of the first cardiologists to become proficient in the new laser treatment of Varicose Veins, an often undiagnosed vascular problem plaguing men and women of all ages. In fact, dozens of cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons have trained in his endovenous laser ablation techniques and for which he runs a prestigious physician training program.

He retains an open mind regarding requests by his patients for alternative treatments and for this reason, the Life Extension Foundation has asked him to write numerous articles in their prestigious and internationally regarded publications. In fact, recently his interest in Enhanced External Counter Pulsation received national attention as an FDA and Medicare approved alternative to angioplasty or bypass surgery. This procedure is currently available at the Soffer Health Institute.

He is on staff at Aventura Hospital and the Memorial Healthcare System.
